Below the Heavens is the widely hailed debut album by Underground hip hop duo Blu & Exile. Prior to the release, the duo's DJ/producer Exile had released a solo album named Dirty Science and two albums as a member of the duo Emanon. The album is truly the debut by rapper Blu who has only been recording music since 2004. Released by independent record label Sound in Color, neither the album nor its one single "The Narrow Path" charted.

Blu rhymes on all of the album's songs, while Exile produces all of the songs and raps just on the final track "I Am...". In addition, the album features guest vocals from Ta'Raach, Aloe Blacc, Miguel Jontel and Joseph.
