Bellano is a comune (municipality) and small town on the eastern shore of Lake Como in the Province of Lecco in the Italian region Lombardy, located at northern outlet of the Valsassina where the Pioverna forms a gorge before entering the lake.
Bellano is about 70 km north of Milan and about 25 km northwest of Lecco. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 3,405 and an area of 11.3 km².[1]
Bellano borders the following municipalities: Dervio, Parlasco, Perledo, San Siro, Vendrogno.
