Belgrave South is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It is in the Local Government Area of the Shire of Yarra Ranges.

Belgrave South is a small outer eastern suburb of Melbourne, Australia. It is positioned at the foothills of the Dandenong Ranges and bordered by Belgrave, Belgrave Heights, Lysterfield, Narre Warren East and Selby. In February 1983, the Ash Wednesday fires swept through the area, destroying many houses.

Belgrave South is home to the Baluk Willam Flora Reserve. This Has more than a third of Victoria's Orchid species, it is Supported by Friends Of Baluk Willam who have volenteered hours and hours of their time into this unique reserve.

Michael Imrie, former V8 supercar driver and team owner, lives in Belgrave South.

[edit] Birdsland Reserve

Belgrave South is also home to a 75-hectare (190-acre) bushland park called Birdsland. Originally owned by a farming family, the Birds, it was sold to the then Shire of Sherbrooke in 1984 and opened to the public for bushwalking, picnicking and sightseeing. It is a very important habitat link for locally rare Platypus, and a local community group, the Birdsland Advisory Committee, are active in maintaining, developing and protecting the reserve. Among their projects includes a sustainable design education centre and a plant nursery which aims to revegetate the reserve.^[2]

Melbourne Water offers stream frontage grants to help landowners apply for money for weed eradication, fencing and more.^[3]
