Belfalls Electric Cooperative

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Belfalls Electric Cooperative Association was a rural utility cooperative headquartered in Rosebud, Texas.

The cooperative was formed in 1936. Prior to its end as a separate entity, the cooperative currently served 5,206 meters with 1,441 miles of line.

The cooperative's territory included portions of Bell, Falls, and Milam counties, all located in Central Texas. The cooperative's name was a portmanteau of Bell and Falls counties.

On July 1, 2007, the cooperative's members voted to merge with McLennan County Electric Cooperative; the combined entity began operations under the name Heart of Texas Electric Cooperative with the main office in McGregor, Texas (the location of the McLennan offices) and the Rosebud office becoming a branch office.
