Belegarth Medieval Combat Society
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Belegarth Medieval Combat Society is a foam weapon combat sports organization, operating as a not for profit corporation. It is comprised of a number of realms, which compete at regional events every year. Typically, each realm also holds individual fighting practices. Realms vary in size from just a handful of people to over a hundred fighters. Unlike most other boffer or foamfighting groups, however, Belegarth is a full contact sport that allows hard hitting, shield bashes, and grappling.
The organization initially formed from a set of loosely organized clubs and franchises starting in December of 2001. In July of 2002 the group was organized enough to incorporate in the State of Illinois. [1].
