Belecthor II
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In J. R. R. Tolkien's fictional universe of Middle-earth, Belecthor II was the twenty-first Ruling Steward of Gondor. He was born in T.A 2752 and succeeded his father Beregond at his death in T.A. 2811.
Belecthor continued his father's campaigns against the Corsairs of Umbar. The White Council met in 2850, where Gandalf urged an attack on Dol Guldur to drive Sauron out, but Saruman overruled him.
Belecthor was followed by his son Thorondir at his death in 2872; he was the last Steward of the Third Age to pass the age of 100. The White Tree of Gondor died with him.
