Belden is a census-designated place (CDP) in Plumas County, California, United States. The population was 26 at the 2000 census.

Belden is located at 40°0′23″N, 121°15′9″W (40.006439, -121.252546)[1].

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 0.7 square miles (1.9 km²), of which, 0.6 square miles (1.7 km²) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.2 km²) of it (12.33%) is water.

As of the census[2] of 2000, there were 26 people, 13 households, and 5 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 40.6 people per square mile (15.7/km²). There were 36 housing units at an average density of 56.3/sq mi (21.7/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 100.00% White. 0.00% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There were 13 households out of which 30.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 30.8% were married couples living together, and 61.5% were non-families. 38.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 23.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.00 and the average family size was 3.00.

In the CDP the population was spread out with 19.2% under the age of 18, 3.8% from 18 to 24, 50.0% from 25 to 44, 15.4% from 45 to 64, and 11.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 39 years. For every 100 females there were 85.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 110.0 males.

The median income for a household in the CDP was $6,719, and the median income for a family was $8,750. Males had a median income of $ versus $3,750 for females. The per capita income for the CDP was $3,141. All families were living below the poverty line and all of the population.

In the state legislature Belden is located in the 1st Senate District, represented by Republican Dave Cox, and in the 3rd Assembly District, represented by Republican Rick Keene. Federally, Belden is located in California's 4th congressional district, which has a Cook PVI of R +11[3] and is represented by Republican John Doolittle.
