No. 80 High School of Beijing, founded in 1956, is the only distinguished high school in the chaoyang district, and considered a model school for all of Beijing. With approximately more than 2600 junior- and senior-high school students, the advanced ideals, outstanding faculty, and modern facilities have made it the ideal starting point for those who seek the best in higher education. For the years 1999 through 2002, the highest-ranking scholar of the college entrance examinations for all of China came from Beijing No.80 High School, which is a high honour and a tribute to the mission of excellence. Beijing no.80 high school is divided into two campuses, the junior high school located in Baijiazhuang within the third eastern loop where the embassy and CBD district are, high school located at the center of the Wangjing Business Park costing more than three hundred million RMB. The latter covers 0.094 square kilometers and the campus has its own facilities for classrooms, science and technology, art, gymnasium, pool, astronomical observatory, dining hall, dormitories, off ices, and playground. Its advanced education and living establishments come second to none in the educational circles of China, and the beautiful modern campus has become a cultural landscape in Wangjing.

No. 80 High School of Beijing’s impressive success can be attributed to its' emphasis on academics, discipline, and an outstanding and dedicated faculty which include famous teachers as Ning Hongbin for Special Education and Fan Shujuan, the winner of the country’s Exemplary teacher award. Today, the school has 12 teachers of special classification, 15 teachers with a Doctors or Masters degree, and 4 foreign teachers on the staff. The unique faculty selection criteria seeks out a track record of achievement in their chosen field, outstanding leadership and communication skills, versatility, enthusiasm, and a solid history of teaching excellence. The school holds to the educational ideals of having a strong foundation, large canvas of knowledge, encouraging discipline and conformity, and, most importantly, having original ideas. Through multi-disciplinary programmes and a democratic research atmosphere, the school combines the essence of the oriental and occidental education worlds, and provides students with opportunities of studying at home and abroad to maximize their lifelong education potential, as the motto (loosely translated) goes: “Low Burden, high quality, and with strong points”.

The No. 80 High School of Beijing has a track record of great achievement at the education of science and technology, physical education, audio-visual education, foreign languages, and computer science. Building on the advanced education system and ideas, Beijing no.80 high school have expanded a student base to include foreign students, adding Chinese education to the curriculum, organizing international summer camps and exchanges between schools, and carrying out international cooperative education, having established “Sister School” relationships with schools in Germany, United States, Australia, Japan, and Korea. These international cultural exchanges have been very successful in their joint missions of education and cultural awareness.

The dormitories are air-conditioned, double rooms with washroom, bathroom, telephone, and laundry service. The school has a dormitory staff who are available to assist students on a 24/7 basis. The professional nutrition experts at the school’s cafeteria provide a variety of dishes to satisfy different tastes of students from around the world. The school health clinic is open 24 hours a day to care for the students’ health as well as to prevent health epidemics, together with a supermarket which supplies excellent quality at a reasonable price, making campus life much more convenient.

Beijing no.80 high school has developed a curriculum tailored specifically for foreign students, comprised of a healthy mix of science and Chinese culture:

  1.  Chinese Class: Offering both a beginning and advanced level class, 
      both designed for passing the Chinese Level Examination of China, 
      this curriculum covers not only the language (grammar, oral comprehension, 
      reading, and writing), but English, Mathematics, calligraphy, computer 
      science, and physical education as well.  Foreign and Chinese students 
      study together in over 50 selective courses.
   2. Certification class: Educational certification classes at the Junior 
      and Senior High School level.  The students who pass the Chinese 
      examination and corresponding general knowledge grade examinations 
      can participate in the certification class.  It has courses such as 
      Mathematics, Chinese Language and Literature, English, Physics, 
      Chemistry, Geography, History, Physical Education, Art, Music, Computer 
      Science, and selective courses shared with the Chinese students

Those who pass the language and general knowledge courses with a high score elect to take more advanced Chinese classes as well. The school will organize comprehensive review classes for the college entrance examinations, and will coach the students on the most effective ways to apply for Chinese Studying Trtavel programs at Peking University and Tsinghua University. With the advanced education, outstanding living conditions and the rich diversity of courses, the school has united study, amusement, and travel together in such a way as to allow our foreign friends to best experience the broad and profound Chinese culture.

  1.  Courses offered: Chinese, Chinese Culture, Calligraphy, Wash Painting, 
      Chinese Kongfu, Folk Songs, Beijing Opera, Chinese Handcraft Art, etc. 
      Successful completion of these courses will result in a certification 
      of completion from the school.
  2.  Course schedule: Monday through Friday, 6 classes each day. Short 
      trips and/or visits to Chinese families on weekends.  
  3.  Travel: Visit historic sites such as the Great Wall, the Forbidden City,  
      the Summer Palace, the plaza of Tian’anmen, the North Sea, and the 
      famous universities such as the Peking University and Tsinghua University.  
      The school can also arrange trips to other provinces as well.
