As of 2001 India census,[2] Begamganj had a population of 30,563. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Begamganj has an average literacy rate of 65%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with 58% of the males and 42% of females literate. 17% of the population is under 6 years of age.
