[edit] Metalcore?
Even though I do not believe Slipknot fall under the metalcore genre AT ALL, this song sounds more like metalcore than anything else. James25402 14:56, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
You'd be suprised, i was chekin out the inrenet and some website considered them as a Metalcore/Nu Metal band. As far as im conserned Before I Forget is the only metalcore songs Slipknot have ever done. Goom 20:18, 21st June 2007 (UTC)
yeh n you could also have me inside, purity and wait n bleed as metalcore songs
i think metalcore is more eralivent then nu metal Rakarno.
Even though someone wrote "do not change the genre to metalcore", why the hell not? There are no citations ANYWHERE that describe the genre of this song on its own, any genre we put in the box for it is going to be based on POV. Just because Slipknot play alt. metal/nu-metal does not mean it is any more reliable to label THIS song as those genres. The consensus on this Talk page has said metalcore, so unless some people come here to complain about and disagree, it will stay metalcore. James25402 (talk) 22:22, 23 December 2007 (UTC)
Who keeps changing metalcore to "metal", alternative metal, or even... nu metal? Whoever it is, LEAVE IT ON METALCORE. 61x62x61 (talk) 22:29, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
Would New Wave of American Heavy Metal be a good enough replacement, as it is strongly influenced by metalcore? π₰Å₯ ĬLʡ$Φǚɭђµπt₴ŗ ₯Å₰π 22:25, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Slipknot before i forget.jpg
Image:Slipknot before i forget.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] Thematically, the song deals with a nihilistic conception of man
Seriously, this smacks of pretense. I think that the entire second paragraph should either have major changes or be scrapped entirely. The references to Darwinism and Machiavelliism are stretches at best, and really don't belong here. 69.19.14.37 (talk) 06:09, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
Not to mention that "materialism circumstances" isn't an English phrase. I'm just going to remove the whole paragraph, if someone wants put it back in they should find some sources that back up that interpretation. Kravitch (talk) 19:36, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
