Talk:Bedford, Massachusetts
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Is it really encyclopedic to link to software companies (even if they are "the largest Massachusetts-based software company") that happen to be headquarted in the town? It's not like Progress makes up a significant portion of the identity of Bedford or anything. Also, the Progress Software page smacks of advertising to me, though I admit it's fairly matter-of-fact. - Okay, I cleaned up the Progress Software Corporation page a little bit, so that it feels less like an advertisement and a little bit more encyclopedic. I'm still going to remove their link from the Bedford page, though, since I don't think it's relevant to Bedford.
Dude, somebody do something about the sports section. Each and every word of that is a complete and utter lie. Fix it up.
8 Libraries? Does it count when ~half of them are school libraries? Though they are by all means public, access to them is still pretty much restricted to students + faculty at the respective schools. Also, I only know of five libraries (the 4 school libraries + the general public library), where/what are the other three? As for the gyms, 13 seems to be pretty up there for Bedford.
[edit] Bedford Flag?
Hi- what is the proven basis for the Bedford Flag actually being flown by Bedford's minute companies in 1775? No accounts from participants or eyewitnesses mention anybody carrying a flag on either side, nor is there ever any mention of any such historic flag in local newpapers or books until April, 1875, one hundred years later, when it suddenly appears from nowhere in the Page family. How is the question handled in Bedford? Thanks for your time!
