She went on to become the drama club president during the rest of her high school term. Young was also a member of her local professional theater, The Penobscot Theater Co.

In 2005, Young's mother passed away from kidney cancer.

Young started her career in the video game industry as Marketing Coordinator for Mythic Entertainment on the title Dark Age of Camelot. An avid gamer, Young has been involved in the gaming community, in one capacity or another, for over 7 years. She is currently “The Video Game Nussie” on Maxim Radio’s The Covino and Rich Show [1]. She has also been a recurring guest of “The Loop” segment on G4's Attack of the Show. [edit] The Girls Entertainment Network
The Girls Entertainment Network (GEN) is a community created by an all-female staff where males and females alike discuss topics related to entertainment and pop culture, including anime, cosplay, video games, gadgets, and comics. With thirteen GEN editors covering multiple topics, the site is updated daily with fresh content that includes fun editorials, videos, reviews, researched articles and entertainment blogs. In addition to the information on the website, GEN's forums allow the GEN community to interact and provide a constant dialogue.[1]
Young first developed the idea of a community aimed at females after working on Watch Us Game in 2005. In 2006 Young joined the Global Gaming League who enlisted her services into creating and running the Girl Gaming Network website. After managing the site for a year and a half, Young left GGL to go out on her own.
In January of 2008, Young and her team of female writers created the Girls Entertainment Network, immediately populating the site with new and updated content. Since GEN's inception, the site has grown to 300+ members. Recently, Spark Studios has endorsed Young's vision, hiring Young to manage and oversee the GEN website.

Young is currently dating American video game music composer and co-creator of Video Games Live, Tommy Tallarico.
