Becker Media is a direct response advertising agency headquartered in Oakland, California. Becker specializes in marketing, lead generation, and brand identity for private, post-secondary schools.

Roger Becker founded Becker Media in 1994, initially working out of his home and specializing in retail clients. He began working with schools shortly thereafter, taking on his first school in 1995. In 1999 he acquired office space and hired his first employees. Roger had an interest in helping the private post-secondary sector elevate the caliber and sophistication of its marketing, and in 2001 made the decision to deal exclusively with schools.[1] Since then, the agency has worked with some of the largest schools in the private post-secondary sector, including U.S. Education Corporation[2], Keiser University, Corinthian Colleges, Inc., and Career Education Corporation.

Becker Media was the first agency specializing in private post-secondary schools to promote the importance of a strong brand.[3] Previously, the focus in the category was mainly on direct response advertising and lead generation. Becker Media's stance is that branding and direct response messaging are not mutually exclusive, and that a strong brand is vital for growth in the increasingly crowded school marketplace.[4]

In 2007, Becker Media debuted a new service, BeckerConnect, as a tool to help schools increase their conversion rates for web site leads. The service uses advanced telephony to connect a school with visitors to their website. When a user submits a web form requesting that the school contact them, the system calls the school and gives them the user's information and the option of being connected to them via phone. If the school accepts, the system then dials the phone number provided by the user on the web form and connects the two phone calls. Becker Media is the first post-secondary school agency to offer a service utilizing this technology.

In 2008, the agency will launch Becker Direct, a new lead aggregation system that will streamline buying internet leads from multiple sources, including removing duplicates.
