BECU is a credit union originally established to serve employees of The Boeing Company. BECU was founded as Fellowship Credit Union in 1935 by 18 Boeing employees, and was named Boeing Employees' Credit Union for much of its history. Based in Tukwila, Washington, BECU has over $8.3 billion in assets and over 550,000 members, making it the largest credit union in Washington and one of the top five in the United States. BECU has two full-service financial centers, one in Tukwila and one in Everett, and over 40 neighborhood financial centers in selected Safeway, Albertsons, QFC, Fred Meyer and TOP Food stores throughout the Puget Sound area. Gary Oakland is the current President and CEO.

All who live, work, worship, or attend school in Washington are eligible to join BECU, as are past and current employees of The Boeing Company, its subsidiaries or affiliates, BECU itself, and the Museum of Flight. Additionally, all related by descent, adoption, marriage or domestic partnership to a person meeting one of the above criteria are eligible.

Recently, BECU has launched a multimedia ad campaign promoting their new 7.5% interest rate on the first five hundred dollars deposited into an account. The advertisements are based on the phrase "BECU member since..." reaching a certain financial benchmark, such as sending a child to college. An example of a phrase used in an advertisement would be "BECU member since Our Savings Gave Us Family Time!!"
