Thank you for your recent contribution to Wikipedia. Please do what you can to wikify this article. [edit] Captain info
Please use the "other=captain" parameter in order to set up the captaincy in football squad rosters. For instance:
- {{Football squad player|no=8|name=[[Michele Fini]]|pos=MF|nat=Italy|other=captain}}
instead of
- {{Football squad player|no=8|name=[[Michele Fini]]|pos=MF|nat=Italy}} ''(Cpt)''
You might also need to show a reliable source to prove a player is actually a captain for his team. Thank you. --Angelo 20:20, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Little context in National under-18 football team
Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on National under-18 football team, by Wingsandsword (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because National under-18 football team is very short providing little or no context to the reader. To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting National under-18 football team, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it did not nominate National under-18 football team itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. --Android Mouse Bot 2 13:22, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] What are you doing?
What exactly are you trying to do with those national football team articles you keep adding and deleting stuff from? ugen64 14:03, 22 July 2007 (UTC)
Please stop adding template instructions to the bottom of articles - that is meant only for the template itself. If you continue, you may be temporarily blocked. ugen64 14:10, 22 July 2007 (UTC)- Sorry, I see what you were doing. In any case, you shouldn't put navboxes of youth teams on national team articles - they belong only on the youth team articles. However, if you can point me to a page that justifies your actions, I will take the blame for being hasty and revert all my edits. ugen64 14:13, 22 July 2007 (UTC)

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 17:00, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Marcos Painter
Hi, When you add details to a player's infobox, in this case Marcos Painter's under-21 appearances, please will you only add facts for which you have a source. Painter has indeed played for Ireland U21, but he made his debut in 2005 (see the BBC match report), not 2007 as you put. Also, if you don't know the number of appearances and goals, it's better to leave the field blank, so that the reader sees there's something missing which maybe they'll want to fix. It's not actually correct to put that a player has 0 appearances and 0 goals when he has actually played. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 20:00, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Andorra international footballers
I've been working on putting together some information on Andorra international players, and I noticed that you created a few articles with infoboxes and no text. It would be helpful if you could just write a couple sentences in the article as well, and would make them less likely to be deleted. You can use Cristian Roig Mauri as an example; it's a very basic article, but it ensures that it meets notability. Additionally, exact capping information for Andorra can be found here. to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

[edit] Notability of Tom Taiwo and Jonathan Franks
A tag has been placed on Tom Taiwo requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

[edit] Non-notable footballers
Please stop creating articles on non-notable footballers. If a player has not played in the Premier League, Football League, or played for a member club in the FA Cup, League Cup or Football League Trophy, they are not considered notable. Articles such as Jordan Spence will continue to be deleted until they make an appearance. Thanks, пﮟოьεԻ 57 21:52, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
- Please also note that Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Notability is not policy or guideline and editors are not obliged to follow it. You will, however, be met with the wrath of the football article deletionists. If you provide enough references to satisfy WP:V the article may survive. --Egghead06 (talk) 08:34, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
- Regardless of the above comment, WP:ATHLETE is a guideline to be followed. пﮟოьεԻ 57 17:54, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Gavin Hoyte
There is no point in this article being regularly recreated. As decided at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Gavin Hoyte (2nd nomination), until the player makes a first team appearance in a competitive match then he will not get a page. TerriersFan (talk) 20:19, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Enbolding of International players
Your edits to premier league team squad lists is contrary to the MoS set out in Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Clubs which explicitly states this style should be avoided. Please stop and revert your edits to indicate your acceptance of this as a demonstration of good faith otherwise action to remedy situation will be initiated Tmol42 (talk) 22:10, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Your non-notable contributions
It seems you're really not willing to understand your mistakes. Creating articles about non-notable subjects is merely senseless and unappreciated by the Wikipedia community, as well as against our widely accepted notability guidelines. You have been already warned plenty of times, and even blocked for this, but you seem you just don't really care about it. So, in short, if you keep on creating articles about non-notable subjects, you might be blocked for a considerably long period. Keep this in mind, okay? Thanks in advance, --Angelo (talk) 10:00, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
