[edit] About Me
My known internet name is BEANO. And yes, Josh is my first name. My cousins gave it to me when I was a little kid when I had really bad farts. It was like a weapon to me, since my gas was good at keep my cousins from tackling me, or doing anything little kids do to others for fun. They would often poke fun at me, saying that I needed to take the pill Beano, and the nickname BEANO eventually just stuck as my nickname. People often call me that in place of my real name. I am currently 18 years old, and I live in Bend, Oregon. I grew up in Portland, Oregon and moved to Bend in August 2001. Many people today would remember me as the little nerd from High Desert Middle School that fixed teachers' computers and solved network problems as an aide for the school administrator, or the short kid at BSH that took nerdy classes. I hung out with friends that many saw a nerdy, but friends that I saw that were great people who I still hang out with today. I currently work at Old Navy, and have worked there for about 2 1/2 years. It's a great job, and I love it to death. I ran into Wikipedia my freshman year of High School, registered an account in 2005 and have been a member since. I started to get into fighting vandalism since around February 2007. I'm a member of the CVU, and I don't back down from a vandal war. It's kind of fun when you're bored and have nothing to do for the rest of the evening. Don't get me wrong, I didn't used to fight away vandals. I went to a High School with five shared IPs that weren't static. I've had my laughs and fun times, but I decided to turn that around and use what I experienced to fight what I used to be. Many of my contributions at the beginning of my list may seem like vandalism, but I thought at the time that it was true information. You can see some of the messages and questions I sent in my talk page.
More to come later.
[edit] Computers and Education
I graduated from Bend High School in 2007, and I am working and attending community college for a year to save money. OIT is going to be my college of choice. I am attending COCC to transfer my credits. Computers have always been my life and passion. At 5, I got my hands on my first computer. A Compaq computer with an old Pentium processor and 48MB of RAM. I played many old computer games... Rebel Assault II, Dark Forces, Starcraft, etc. At 9, I was already installing programs, upgrading Windows from 95 to 98, and teaching my parents how to do things they didn't know could be done with a computer. I built my first computer at 12 years old. It was just a Pentium II Processor, but it marked a lot of achievement for me since I did it on my own. I was a computer tech aide for two years at my Middle School, and for three additional years at my High School thereafter. I today, have a pretty decent machine built (see Computer Specs below). I have built many computers for others that wanted a custom built computer, and have been paid countless times for computer repair services.

[edit] Videogames
When I'm not working, hanging out with friends or in school, I'm on the computer playing some videogames. I Love shooters and RPG's. My favorite kind of videogames are Strategy games. Starcraft has been my ultimate favorite game for going on ten years now. The first CD I bought was months after its release, and it says on the CD that it is for "Windows 95 / MAC". I am familiar with all three races, so watch out! I'll get you!
Many ask why I do not play World of Warcraft. Simple reasons:
- I didn't get into it. I tried it out, and it got boring really fast. People told me that the first 1-15 will be slow, but I wasn't in the mood for the wait.
- Too many people play it. Yeah call it dumb, but that's another reason why. Servers are big, and there are lots of people who play. When someone does a quest like you, it makes you wait sometimes.
- It costs $15 a month. ...No thanks. I don't enjoy it, and on top of that, It's a monthly subscription for a game I don't like.
I like Guild Wars much better. The classes, PvP, Quests, etc. are much easier to understand. Plus, it's nice on the wallet.
