[edit] Bear Vally Schools

From the Main Article: "The town of Bear Valley is one of the few towns in California to have what is effectively a one room school house. It is a K-8 public school whose largest student body on record was 36 students, in 1976."

Couldn't find the name of the school or verify its size. Only listed public schools in Caleveras County with fewer than 36 students are high schools. No record of any K-8 schools of any size. Maybe it's not listed because of its size? Anyone know the name of this school? Vary 05:15, 7 October 2005 (UTC)

I will verify size and name next time I drive up. But it's true... one building (perhaps more than one room) houses K-12. [Tony, 11 Nov 2005]

Bear Valley is in Alpine County. Here is a reference to a total school population of 14 students. http://ca.localschooldirectory.com/schools_info.php/school_id/5636
