- Given the advantage that south american varieties (Fragaria chiloensis subsp. chiloensis) grow in areas where summers are practically free from heat like southern Chile and Tierra del Fuego, this fruit, could be cultivated in central and north Scandinavia, Alaska Peninsula, [[Aleutian Islands], Scotland, Ireland, it would be very interesting to stablish south american variety of beach strawberry in Iceland; a country where no fruit cultivation is posible.
