Talk:BEA WebLogic
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The article should in some place describe what WebLogic *does* -- what it's for -- to those of us who have no idea.
Think version 4 should clarify "the acquisition?" I'm not very familiar with the product and came here to learn about it, and it took me a minute to realize BEA must've purchased WebLogic at some point.
The history of WebLogic, Inc, and its subsequent acquisition by BEA Systems, is discussed in the first paragraph of the History section. bob pasker 19:40, 15 July 2006 (UTC)
I reverted an earlier revision to my comment: "At this point, the founders worked together to pursue what was eventually to be called the Application Server" because I meant exactly what I said. The founders worked together on a project which was at the time not called an app server, but eventually would be. bob pasker 19:40, 15 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] version history
Why are there two different version sections (Version covering 5.0-current and WebLogic History covering 2-4)? Seems like they should be merged. Pimlottc 16:02, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

I agree that this "definition" tells me nothing. I was in the IT field as recently as the 90's and I have no clue after reading this, what Weblogic is/does. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.137.132.233 (talk) 22:29, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Language, language
Is this 'encyclopedic' language? : and was called T3Server (a bastardization of 3-Tier Server). Don't get me wrong; I don't mind. But it sounds a little... out of place.
