The first issue of Beacon featuring the famous cover story - Rajiv Gandhi a victim of international conspiracy. This take on the Rajiv Gandhi assassination was later taken up almost eight months later by India Today. The cover story tried to put insight into the events that led to the assassination of the former Prime Minister vis-a-vis his arms deals outside the purview of legitimacy.
