[edit] Biography

Handra's father was a refugee from the Hungarian revolution in 1956 and her mother was a concert pianist from Japan.[1]

Handra teamed up with Sinek in 1995 when she was 18 years old. She came to the 1995 National Championships looking for a dance partner. She had not completed her senior test at the time.[2] She has been skating as a solo dancer before teaming up with Sinek. They teamed up in 1995 and were married the next summer in 1996.

Despite their fourth place finish at the 2002 Nationals, Handra & Sinek earned the United States' second spot to the 2002 Winter Olympics because the two teams who placed above them (Tanith Belbin & Benjamin Agosto and Melissa Gregory & Denis Petukhov) were not eligible to compete at the Olympics due to citizenship problems.
