Beat Suite
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Beat Suite (1999-2000) was a daily show on MTV hosted by Troi Torain pka Star & Timothy Joseph pka Buc Wild during the "Isle of MTV" period. It was filmed on location in the Bahamas and in NYC. Originally aired from 11am - 12noon Monday through Friday, it featured slap stick humor, raunchy skits, Top fives and demolition Fridays where the host destroyed Platinum and Gold certified plaques by famous recording artist.
The shows were hand crafted and written by Torain pka Star. Rob Niebling produced the show with the assistance of associate producer Arthur Jones. After a one year successful ratings run, the host decided to focus on their new gig of hosting a morning show at NYC's Hot 97 radio station.
What made the Beat Suite appeal to mainstream viewers were Star & Buc Wilds anti-hero personas. Clips of the show can be seen at http://www.youtube.com/onthechow
