Beanibazar (Bengali: বিয়ানিবাজার) is an Upazila of Sylhet District in the Division of Sylhet, Bangladesh.
The name 'Beanibazar' means 'morning market'. In the past, Beanibazar was surrounded by mostly jungles with many tigers that attacked people regularly at night. But the brave Beanibazari's fought them off to near extinction. They made it almost impossible for the residents to go the bazaar after dusk to buy or sell daily necessary items. For this reason the shopping was held in the morning and hence the name Beanibazar. Previously, Beanibazar was called 'Pancha Khanda' which means 'Five Parts'.
