1. Who are we?
BDotNETStudent, The Bangalore .NET Student User Group is managed and driven by Microsoft Student Champs, who are the on-campus representatives for Microsoft, from across various colleges in and around Bangalore.
We are part of Microsoft's Academic Developer program and we come under B.NET - The Bangalore .NET User Group, which is a user group of professional developers on .NET in Bangalore and which currently has more than 4000 members and is India's most active and largest .NET user group!
BDotNETStudent was formed more than a year back and since then has grown from a small community of around 30 members to nearly 600+ members today and has conducted two major events (Date with .NET v1.0 and v2.0) apart from many sessions at various colleges in and around Bangalore, including Tumkur, Chickmaglur, Mangalore, Surathkal, Manipal, etc.
2. Why are we here?
We are here because we have a passion for technology that our current engineering curriculum cannot please. We want to learn and spread word of the latest Microsoft technologies - especially .NET, which is going to play very important role in the future! .NET is the future as far as Microsoft is concerned. Major parts of the next version of Windows are being written in .NET.
3. What do we do?
We do a lot of .NET related activities and our main meeting point and message board is this online group, where we can communicate with each other and post questions on .NET, which will be answered by professionals from Microsoft and also student developers who have worked on .NET.
We also have regular seminars in various colleges and also organise technical events and competitions, etc. etc.. All our activities will be announced on the group's main page (http://groups.msn.com/BDotNetStudent/home.msnw) , so please visit it often and keep yourself updated with the group's events, lest you miss out on some good event!
