[edit] IT WAS AN ACCIDENT

First and most importantly, It was an accident that I deleted the speedy tag. I have NEVER done so before and, I immediately replaced it myself!

Secondly, As a matter of fact I am known, my company is known and I have links to prove it! I placed a hangon tag on the site to give me time to insert references and modifications however you trashed the post within 12 hours of my hangon tag. Thats ridiculous, I have to sleep sometime! Secondly, as I mentioned before the delete, there are many, many wiki posts made by founders of their own company. For example, Terrafugia, as I mentioned, is a speculative startup with no product, no patents, and a bunch of recent college graduates claiming they are going to revitalize an idea Henry Ford already tried and failed, along with dozens of others subsequently including Moller and his 20-year-in-the-making Skycar that still has not flown except on a tether.

I understand that you have a responsibility to keep Wiki accurate and uncluttered but I think you have to remain objective in order to be effective and I notice you have at times admitted you are "crabby". I only ask that 1, I have time to make edits when a hangon is posted and secondly, you treat educated people as you would like to be treated.

There are many posts I know of written by relatives and friends of others promoting their company, name, idea or term. Many have never been challenged. Who posted Terrafugia? What does it say? Who has heard of them? In aviation circles they are scoffed. I do not particularly care either way if Terrafugia remains on Wiki. In fact I wish them well but they are not known by anyone outside their influence and are not a household name. Similarly, myself and Digital Reality, Inc are not household names but they are both recognized and respected academically and professionally in the global manufacturing community. I've earned that respect in 12 years as a manufacturing engineer, speaking at global conferences on topics related to manufacturing on behalf of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers.

Dear sir or madam, Welcome to wikipedia. I say that because you seem to be figuring out the way things work around here. As far as people writing about their company or name, they too are in the wrong as it is a Conflict of interest for Wikipedia. Also ,maybe it is that no one except you has realized that Terrafugia is blatant self-promotion. Wikipedia empowers you to address that concern.(Have not looked at it my self) Keep in mind that just because one article is kept does not necessarily mean that others should or should not. A great essay about that to check out is Wikipedia:Arguments to avoid in deletion discussions. Also as for your schooling and credentials, Wikipedia does not bias edits based on such out side merits but rather on the edits you contribute. The reason for that is because any one can edit wikipedia. Your talents don't have to go to waist of course their are places where Wikipedia require experts wisdom and knowledge.R00m c 07:52, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Spam in Made-To-Order Digital Manufacturing Enterprise

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Made-To-Order Digital Manufacturing Enterprise, by RHaworth (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Made-To-Order Digital Manufacturing Enterprise is blatant advertising for a company, product, group, service or person that would require a substantial rewrite in order to become an encyclopedia article.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Made-To-Order Digital Manufacturing Enterprise, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. --Android Mouse Bot 2 10:12, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Aren't there any disinterested sources?

I'm writing you a note because you seem to be able to make genuinely good contributions. Aren't there any disinterested parties that reference you? A textbook on the subject? Anything? Nothing says that you can't write articles that reference yourself at all, just that materials you create about yourself (or that you pay someone else to create) cannot be the primary basis for an article. At the very least, writing articles about your industry segment still is beneficial to you, even if you can't come out and say that your products are the best.

Note, by the way, that the Terrafugia article includes external references, and contains a substantial description of why their product is likely to never work properly. In fact, over half of the article is devoted to skepticism. Kww 14:08, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Retort

I actually enjoy your response. It is objectionable and fair so, let me retort: More than half of my post was also criticism. Secondly, I am an advisor for the Direct Digital Manufacturing technology counil to the Society of Manufacturing Engineers. It is an emerging field. who better to write about it than one of its founders and leaders in the field?

[edit] License tagging for Image:Honorable James D squier.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Honorable James D squier.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated.
