[edit] Ontario Universities
I removed the Ont_Uni template from List of Ontario Universities. I don't think we need another list of universities on the list page. Was there a particular reason you added it? --Timc 19:14, 18 Aug 2004 (UTC)
- I guess you're right, it's a bit redundant to have two copies of the same list on the listings page. BCKILLa 20:08, 18 Aug 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Dragon Ball
Howdy BCKILLa.
I noticed you've been adding small images to denote which series a character came from. I think that's a good idea, but I would suggest editing the character template (adding a new row) to place them. Oberiko 15:05, 17 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- I'll give it a try BCKILLa 22:17, 17 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- It worked, but "Appears in" parameter will have to be filled with "DB|", "DBZ|", "DBGT|", "DB Movie|", "DBZ, DBGT|" etc.
[edit] Your arrow images
Hi! Thanks for uploading Image:Arrow Blue Left 001.jpeg, Image:Arrow Blue Right 001.jpeg, and Image:Arrow Blue Up 001.jpeg. I notice they currently don't have image copyright tags. Could you add this to let us know their copyright status? (You can use gfdl if you release it under the GFDL, or fairuse if you claim fair use, etc.) Thanks so much, – Quadell (talk) (help)[[]] 03:08, Oct 21, 2004 (UTC)
Just a note to let you know that I've deleted your temp. page of characters as you requested. Cheers, fabiform | talk 20:04, 21 Oct 2004 (UTC).
[edit] List of Dragon Ball characters
Sorry for removing the template from this article. I didn't really noticed it separated them by series, so I thought it'd be a redundant alphabetical list. The new way, with the two lists side by side, looks a lot better though.
Good move :P — Kieff | Talk 22:34, Dec 5, 2004 (UTC)
- Glad to bring it to your attention.BCKILLa 11:35, 6 Dec 2004 (UTC)
[edit] The Humungous Image Tagging Project
Hi. You've helped with the Wikipedia:WikiProject Wiki Syntax, so I thought it worth alerting you to the latest and greatest of Wikipedia fixing project, User:Yann/Untagged Images, which is seeking to put copyright tags on all of the untagged images. There are probably, oh, thirty thousand or so to do (he said, reaching into the air for a large figure). But hey: they're images ... you'll get to see lots of random pretty pictures. That must be better than looking for at at and the the, non? You know you'll love it. best wishes --Tagishsimon (talk)
[edit] Article Licensing
Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 2000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:
- Multi-Licensing FAQ - Lots of questions answered
- Multi-Licensing Guide
- Free the Rambot Articles Project
To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:
- Option 1
- I agree to multi-license all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
- DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual
OR
- Option 2
- I agree to multi-license all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below:
- DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual
Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" with "MultiLicensePD". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. -- Ram-Man (comment| talk)
[edit] Return of the Untagged Image project
You were kind enough to contribute to the Wikipedia:Untagged images project; I beg to draw your attention to part 2 of the project - there are about 12,000 more images in need of tagging. Any assistance you could provide would be most welcome. thanks --Tagishsimon (talk)

[edit] Canadian city template
I see that you added the information to the help section of that template, would you know how to disable the city flag parameter? -- Phoenix2 20:14, 21 May 2005 (UTC)
- To disable the flag, choose a different header format (from Help:Template:Canadian City#"Header Format") that doesn't use the flag. Standard Headers use PAGE_NAME_Flag.jpg, and PAGE_NAME_Coat_of_Arms.jpg as default names, while Custom Headers can have non-standard names, but you must use the Flag Image and Coat Image parameters. Hope this helps, if you have any other questions I'd be glad to be of assistance. --BCKILLa 21:39, 21 May 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright
If you are going to nag users about image copyright, at least read the image description first. You removed the text "Clean up from Image:Taiwan Straits.jpg." to put an unknown tag in! If you'd followed the link you'd have found a PD tag. ed g2s • talk 10:25, 22 May 2005 (UTC)
- there was a bit of a confusion, as the link that Image:Taiwan Strait.png claimed to be a derivative of was Image:Taiwan Straits.jpg, while it should have been Image:Taiwan straits.jpg (no capital s on straits). Thanks for fixing that problem. --BCKILLa 19:29, 22 May 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Image:Swan Cove.bewerkt.jpg
You've marked the above image as unverified. Indeed, my fault. I've put now the tag CopyrightedFreeUse-User on the page. Originally it was of those numerous tropical sunset photos on the internet, which don't bother to mention any copyright at all. I've changed that picture by one effect after another in such way that the original is totally unrecognizable. Therefore I can claim that this is my own work. It is like painting with pixels. I hope that this will satisfy you. JoJan 12:15, 22 May 2005 (UTC)
- yes, that is fine. --BCKILLa 19:36, 22 May 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Odette Sculpture Park
Hi. I noticed on the list of Canadian Wikipedians that you go to school in Windsor and was wondering if you have any pictures of the sculptures in the Odette Sculpture Park. A few pictures would really spruce up the article in addition to any other info you might know about it. I thought I had pictures but it turns out they were all taken at night and wouldn't work well in the article. --NormanEinstein 22:03, 2 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- I don't have any pictures of sculpture park, but I do live quite close to it, so may be able to borrow someone's digital camera to take some pictures. If I can borrow one, I'll try over next weekend. --BCKILLa 00:00, 3 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- still didn't get any pics yet, too busy.--BCKILLa 22:39, 21 Jun 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Template:Canadian City/Testing et. al.
There are number of "test" templates that you've created, including Template talk:Canadian City/Testing, Template:Canadian City/Testing/Header Images include:Coat of Arms, and Template:Canadian City test. Are any of them still needed, or can they be deleted. Also, the same question for Template:DB Character/test? BlankVerse ∅ 06:45, 18 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- I still may have to use the Canadian City Testing Templates, but the DB Character test can be deleted. I'll put a notice for deletion on the Canadian City Templates when I'm sure there isn't any need for them. BCKILLa 17:34, 18 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- Thanks. I've decided to do a little housecleaning in the Template name space, so beside semi-randomly checking suspicious names, I've been going through and looking at anything that has "test" in the name. Probably half of the latter category are speedy delete candidates, a few I've nominated at Templates for deletion, and for the rest I've contacted the template's creator. [edit] Image:Cagliari.jpg
You tagged Image:Cagliari.jpg as GFDL. How did you come to the conclusion that it's GFDL? kmccoy (talk) 8 July 2005 21:11 (UTC)
- I checked my history to see what I was doing at that time, and it looks like I must have copied and pasted the wrong image tag (I ment to tag as unverified), bad mistake on my behalf, I'm glad you caught it. --BCKILLa 12:09, 11 July 2005 (UTC)
[edit] More Canadian Cities template help
Hey BCKILLa, not sure if you're watching, but could you have a look at Help_talk:Template:Canadian_City#Disabling_parameter_fields? Am I (very likely) doing something wrong? Thanks for any help, Mrtea 05:59, 1 August 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Template:/div=True
Would you be so kind as to tell me how this works? There's no documentation. — Xiong熊talk* 23:46, 2005 August 15 (UTC)
- Can you comment at Wikipedia:Templates_for_deletion#Template:Hide? I assume you're trying to create a template to be used within a template for conditional output purposes. I tried this a while ago and eventually gave up. As far as I can tell, this is not possible in any reasonable way given how templates are currently implemented. -- Rick Block (talk) 17:08, August 20, 2005 (UTC)
- I see you've managed to find a way that does work, at the expense of generating table entries with an unmatched </div> (used in Template:Canadian City). Did you figure out this technique yourself, or did you borrow it from somewhere? Many folks have tried this and failed (including myself) - you might want to publicize it for use in other circumstances. -- Rick Block (talk) 18:47, August 20, 2005 (UTC)
- As far as I know, Template:Canadian City is the only Template that uses this method, I figured it out to make the template more flexible. --BCKILLa 17:26, 2 October 2005 (UTC)
- Sorry I havn't been around to comment on this subject for a while (busy with school work and computer problems), Template:/div=True would be used in an attempt to correct the unbalanced </div> when using template:Hide or similar templates. I don't remember if I did get this to work properly, but usage would be something like this:
- As far as I know, Template:Canadian City is the only Template that uses this method, I figured it out to make the template more flexible. --BCKILLa 17:26, 2 October 2005 (UTC)

where "Hide Template" is a parameter == True;
"" and "" are Templates containing: <div style="visibility:hidden; position:absolute;">;
and contains: </div>
<div style="visibility:hidden; position:absolute;">{{Hide Text = {Hide Template}}} {{/div={Hide Template}}}</div> Text to hide <div style="visibility:hidden; position:absolute;">{{/div={Hide Template}}}</div>
{{/div={Hide Template}}} {{Hide Text = {Hide Template}}} {{Hide Text = {Hide Template}}} </div> Text to hide {{/div={Hide Template}}} </div>
so when "Hide Template" is True:
    </div> Text to hide </div>
and When Hide Template is anything but 'True', The Template name generated will not exist (i.e. if Hide Template = "" then the Template with the name "Hide Text = " is searched for, and not found) and hence will not use the code. This results in:
Hide Template=dksfle
    </div> Text to hide </div>
Text in red results in errors that are hidden by the surrounding , </div> tags.
So, when "Hide Template" is "True" the text is hidden, otherwise the text shows.
Please note that the templates in this example are currently not set up for this type of usage.
This is just rough for now, but I hope it helps. --BCKILLa 19:35, 2 October 2005 (UTC)
- I've since found some other templates that look somewhat similar (e.g. template:iftrue, you might want to peruse the if* templates starting at [1]). I think use of any of these are more or less discouraged for performance reasons (see Wikipedia:Avoid using meta-templates). IMO the template language should clearly have an if-then-else construct, and until it does workarounds should be used only where absolutely necessary. -- Rick Block (talk) 21:55, 2 October 2005 (UTC)

Just curious as to why you've changed the italics on the Canadian City template from the Wikipedia markup standard of to the HTML tags of <i></i> Ben W Bell 10:04, 10 October 2005 (UTC)
- I changed it because on some pages, where there was no motto, the motto field rendered as " Motto: ' " (notice the extra '), this was because the parameter used {Motto}, and when {Motto} was rendered resulted in , which is translated into a '.--BCKILLa 10:09, 10 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Image Tagging Image:Son Goku (Dragon Ball) photo.jpg
|
Thanks for uploading Image:Son Goku (Dragon Ball) photo.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the GFDL-self tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as article name or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ReyBrujo 01:16, 24 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Dole NATA de COCO Cosmic Star Shapes 640x480.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Dole NATA de COCO Cosmic Star Shapes 640x480.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add
Replaceable fair use disputed
, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Chowbok ☠ 05:24, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Untagged image
An image you uploaded, Image:Toronto Coat of Arms.jpg, was tagged with the coatofarms copyright tag. This tag was deleted because it does not actually specify the copyright status of the image. If you have any questions, ask them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. -- 00:20, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 06:39, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Proposed deletion of Vizspace
A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Vizspace, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the dated prod
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? ju66l3r (talk) 18:59, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
