BC Kochmit (pronounced "Coach - Mitt") was born on June 22, 1978 in Cleveland Ohio and is a hard rock guitarist. He began playing guitar at age 13 and quickly fell in love with the instrument. Kochmit is best known for being a founding member and principal songwriter of the band Switched which formed in 1999 and rose to prominence playing at popular festivals such as Ozzfest in 2002 and on the Vans Warped Tour in 2001 and 2002. They also toured constantly with bands such as Sevendust, Fear Factory, Chimaira, Ill Nino, Nonpoint and more. Their debut album titled, Subject to Change was released via Immortal/Virgin Records in 2001, and went on to sell over 100,000 records worldwide. Kochmit currently plays lead guitar and sings backing vocals in the band Dark New Day.

Kochmit is currently endorsed with Peavey Guitars and Peavey guitar amps. He has been known to use a Roland JC-120 for the bulk of his "clean" sound both live and in the studio.
