[edit] Requested move

The parentheses need to go back. It isn't called "Bazaar software", it's just "Bazaar". Chris Cunningham 12:50, 17 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Patience sorting

I'm wondering how to best integrate a recent addition to Patience sorting article, which mentioned that bazaar uses patience sorting, and whether it's at all appropriate there, or here, or non-notable. Please see the talk thread over at Talk:Patience_sorting#bazaar. --BACbKA 17:29, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Zope does not use Bazaar

You have put quite prominently here that Ubuntu and Zope are the biggest users of Bazaar. I do not know about Ubuntu, but I know for certain that Zope uses subversion as an official SCM. You can go to http://svn.zope.org and check it. Please remove this incorrect information from this article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.250.110.58 (talk • contribs) 13:03, 13 July 2007

Statement removed. Of course, you are entirely able to edit this article yourself... Thayvian 01:38, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Merge Baz (software)?

User:IanOsgood added a merge proposal to Baz (software) suggesting that it be merged into this article. [1]. His edit comment was "dead project: merge into successor Bazaar (software)". Since the merge template refers us all here for discussion... should this happen? Thayvian 01:44, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

I agree. Although Baz and Bazaar have different origins, Bazaar is a legitimate successor to Baz. As such, incorporating its article into Bazaar's history section is reasonable. Besides, the Baz article is pretty much just a stub anyway. Laserlight (talk) 09:51, 20 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Neutrality?

This article just lists what's good about Bazaar, and little fact. There's a list of features, many insignificant, but no cons or so - in short, this isn't the sort of material that belongs to Wikipedia, IMO. --80.217.189.62 00:08, 8 October 2007 (UTC)

Then fix it! Find something bad that someone has to say about bazaar. I'm sure a few companies have tried it out so far. My company will be trying it out in a bit, I'll post my thoughts on the discussion, though I don't know that it would count as a valid source of reference. Hendrixski 19:02, 18 October 2007 (UTC)

  • OK, as promised, here's what we saw using bazaar. 1) it works well, 2) it's easy, 3) we're going to be switching to it because it's easy and it works. As for bad things to say about it: it's slow. hendrixski 22:07, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
I second that, it is definitly not fast. On the other hand, subversion isnt that fast either. Anyway, I think unless we are comparing it to git, it is definitly fast enough. edit: added signature. --89.61.90.173 (talk) 17:54, 6 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Bazaar-logo-125x125.png

Image:Bazaar-logo-125x125.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

  • I have added the logo to the page. The logo is taken from Bazaar source tar, which is released under GNU-GPLv2. – Raghunayak (talk) 20:12, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
