- Hello, JyriL and WilliamKF. Thank you for giving me a kind, polite advice when editing WP. Suddenly, page name was changed without following the rule of WP and there was no division. I apologize because it is prudent. Certainly, it is embarrassed that the edit history disappears. I do not edit it to this page thereafter because I want to avoid "Movement war". However, please confirm the following matters to you.--Bay Flam 00:38, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] 47 Tucanae
It is true that Flamsteed designations were given to stars (globular clusters were unknown at the time). However, it does not mean the designation is wrong. "47 Tucanae" is the name of the cluster and is in fact more commonly used than the NGC designation. Therefore the article should be located at 47 Tucanae. Same applies to Omega Centauri.--JyriL talk 18:08, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
- I'm going to revert this change because, even if agreed to, it is not the method by which such changes are supposed to be accomplished. As done, we lose the edit history. The sanctioned method is to ask an administrator to do the move to preserve the history. However, before such a request, a proposal should be made on the talk pages and allow people to comment on it. If it is generally agreed, then the move would proceed. Please see WP:RM for more instructions on this process. Thanks. WilliamKF 23:37, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
