Talk:Bay Area (disambiguation)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I would like to rename this page to "Bay Area (disambiguation)" and redirect Bay Area to San Francisco Bay Area, with a Template:Redirect template at the top of the SFBA page pointing to the disambiguation page. I believe the vast majority of users of the term Bay Area refer to the San Francisco Bay Area. As evidence of this, of the 57 disambiguation links to Bay Area that I recently fixed, ALL of them were intended to point to the San Francisco Bay Area. I admit to some bias, since I live in the SF Bay Area. Steve Pucci | talk 18:00, 16 April 2006 (UTC)

I concur. I did the other half of the Bay Area links and none of them went anywhere but San Francisco Bay Area. Metros232 12:53, 17 April 2006 (UTC)
Done. Steve Pucci | talk 15:09, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
Note further that the Tampa Bay Area page, the only current alternative to San Francisco Bay Area, redirects to a page which lists three alternative names for that area, none of which are "Bay Area". I'm not even sure this page is necessary. Steve Pucci | talk 15:16, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
Actually, that would be the official census name of the Tampa Bay Area. Why that is titled as such I do not know, but I suppose it's because the SFBA has separate census areas? -- Jjjsixsix (talk|review)@ 03:37, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
