[edit] Selective programs
Bayside High School selectively admits students into three different programs. Its Academy of Visual Art & Design features courses in art history, fashion, painting, sculpture, computer graphics, drawing, photography, and commercial art. Its Academy of Music offers male, female, mixed, and concert chorus groups, concert and jazz band, symphonic orchestra, and more. These two programs at Bayside High School have earned it a good reputation in the arts. More recently, however, its S.M.A.R.T. (Science & Math Academy of Research Talent) program has demonstrated students' ability in math and science.
