Bayshore Elementary School District
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Bayshore Elementary School District is a very small school district located in the northeastern corner of San Mateo County, California, United States, consisting of one elementary school, Bayshore Elementary, and one middle school, Robertson. The school district is located in the former city of Bayshore which disincorporated and was later annexed to the city of Daly City.
The "2008 Community Assessment: Health and Quality of Life in San Mateo County Report", prepared by The Healthy Community Collaborative of San Mateo County ranks the Bayshore Elementary School District as 21st of 23 school districts in the county in terms of literacy level, with only 23.0% of students at or above the 50th percentile for reading. This district ranks 2nd of the 23 districts in total number of students receiving free or reduced-price meals, with about 73% of students qualifying for and receiving this assistance.
The district does not serve high school students, as it is part of the larger Jefferson Union High School District, and so children graduating from Robertson go into the JUHSD. Bayshore ESD has its own elected board of education, but currently shares a superintendent with the neighboring Brisbane Elementary School District.
