Bay City (Metro Manila)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Bay City is the name for the reclamation area located west of Roxas Boulevard on Manila Bay in Metro Manila, the Philippines. The area is split between Pasay City on the north side and ParaƱaque City on the south side.
The area is being developed with the current real estate boom in Metro Manila. Several condominium complexes are located in the area. However, Bay City is mostly known for being home to the biggest shopping mall in the Philippines and the seventh-largest in the world, SM Mall of Asia. PAGCOR E-City Observation Tower is planned to build beside SM Mall of Asia. This is often to compare to Las Vegas in Nevada USA.
Eventually, the power of Ferdinand Marcos made the entire reclamation area including the SM Mall of Asia, Coastal Mall, Rizal Park, Philippine International Convention Center, Cultural Center of the Philippines and etc. Manila Bay was a large bay in the Philippines but it's now block-up with the reclamation area. The Manila bay was confronted by the Pasig River.
