Bavojigudam

Bavojigudem is a village located 13 km from Maripeda, the Mandal headquarters, in Warangal District, Andhra Pradesh, India. The neighbouring villages are Venkampadu, Neelukurti, and Giripuram. Previously this village was under the control of the neighbouring village panchayat, Neelukurthi. Ten years ago, the village has got a separate panchayat. The name of the sarpanch is Kota Karunakar Reddy.[1]

Bavojigudem has a population of approximately 1000, consisting of 55% of males and 45% of females. Only 30% to 40% of the village population is literate. The official voter list consists of 700 to 800 members. The main occupation of the villagers is agricultural. In the past, some villagers have also migrated to distant places like Surat to make a higher wages and to have a better life. The village also consists of 3 Lambadi thandas located at some distance of the village fields.

The village consists of a primary school (up to 6th standard) with two teachers. Many students who like to go for advanced studies have to move to other places like Mandal, the district headquarters or to neighbouring districts. The village has good road connectivity to the mandal (Maripeda (Bangla)) headquarters.

The village has no irrigation facility. Already existing tank is breached. Govt is not showing interest in repairing the tank. Farmers are suffering due to lack of irrigation water. There is no bus facility for this village.
