[edit] Why did I start this page?

The Bauer Family was created by Irna Phillips to be the moral center and premier family of Guiding Light and for most of it's 70 year run, they have remained so.

Although, not every member necessarily merits there own page (many do, and a few have them) I certainly think that as a family and as many individual characterw who do NOT yet have pages, they are both a deserving and under-represeted subject.

I do not have extensive information or knowlege on the Bauer family, and I would definatly appreciate any help from those who know the shows history better than I. I would like to see as many members of the family as possible addressed on this page w/ at least a bit of information about their character. Then, in other Guiding LIght articles, Bauer family members who do not have their own individual pages can be directed here.

Hopefully, some of the Bauer family characters who have been previously overlooked will eventually be expanded into their own articles. STill, there is much to be said about the family as a unit.

I re-added the link to Rick Bauer because there is a different Rick Bauer that will be linked in the event that someone decides to add brackets at a later time. (sometimes I notice people will add a link and not check it and it will go someplace completly unrelated). Rick Bauer is definatly worthy of his own page (at least as worthy, and probably more so, as his sister Michelle who already has one.

I dont' really know much about wikiprojects, but I'd really like to start one for guiding light or GL characters. I'd really like to see a family tree or liniage chart of some kind on this page. I have no idea how to create that sort of thing.
