Bauphal is located at 22.4292° N 90.5139° E . It has 50755 units of house hold and total area 486.91 km².

As of 1991 Bangladesh census^[1], Bauphal has a population of 288825. Males constitute are 50.09% of the population, and females 49.91%. This Upazila's eighteen up population is 139575. Bauphal has an average literacy rate of 37.9% (7+ years), and the national average of 32.4% literate. ^[2]
