I appreciate what you are trying to do on the Huddersfield article and as you may have noticed over the last couple of days I have followed your edits and corrected the wikilinks for disambiguations and corrected some edits. I have now had to chop part of the article, that I corrected links of, totally from the article. This is because you are copying it from the Huddersfield one website. Please stop doing that it is an infringement of their copyright. It has happened before and ultimately lead to the relevant person having their IP address blocked to prevent them doing any editing. I am now going to have to check all the recent edits to the article in detail to ensure they do not pose wikipedia a copyright problem. Richard Harvey (talk) 19:30, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
- Hello and I understand, I know little about the history of Huddersfield, especially early history. So I thought the only way to get information was using the internet - obviously I wasn't being wary about copyright issues and such. From the future I will keep clear from the history section - I'll leave it to someone else. Batazer 19:45, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

- Any text, images, video or audio on wikipedia must be released to the Public Domain. It has to be totally free of any restriction to allow any person anywhere in the world to use it in anyway they wish, including changing it around or re editing video or photo's. You can get further info here:- Wikipedia:Copyrights. Also any edits must not appear as advertising Wikipedia:Spam and be totally Neutral from personal points of view Wikipedia:Neutral point of view, which is partly why I reverted your ethnicity edit. Some non UK editors have taken offence at that tpe of edit as it appears to put them into ghetto's. Also could you try to keep your edits from being so 'bitty' :), use the preview button to check stuff (wikilinks) to see if there is a redirect from what you link to to another article and do as much editing in one big go. Lots of little edits are very difficult to follow and makes some editors suspicious you may be changing an article content out of context by stealth. Do not include too much info on a main article if there is a sub article to put it in. EG: Don't write info on the Huddersfield page about Castle Hill or Paddock when there is a separate article for it to go in. Other than that just enjoy yourself. If you are unsure about something just ask for help! Happy editing! :) Richard Harvey (talk) 20:23, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

- For what it's worth, I agree with Richard here. Much of your work is really appreciated, we just need to get you aligned a little more to Wikipedia's (strict) principles and standards. But it's early days yet.

- If you take an interest in writing about British settlements, the WP:UKCITIES guide is a really great place to work from. Hope that helps. I've also provided you with a welcome menu below to aid you along! I also mean the welcome sincerely and warmly. Best of luck! -- Jza84 · (talk) 00:58, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
