Hoziron, forgive me for playing the teacher, for the most part you did a good job, but some idioms you should learn for future reference:

  • ספר עיון means, simply, "non-fiction", not "theoretical"
  • הוציא/ הוציאה is usually short for הוציא לאור/הוציאה לאור, i.e., "published", not "put out".
  • in modern usage, השכלה often means "education" as opposed to "enlightenment", and משכיל is usually used to mean "educated". If you want to described a person as enlightened, the word is נאור.
  • נוגה (noogeh) when applied to a person more often means "wistful" than anything to do with light, though the noun נוגה (noga) does mean "glow" ("bright" was a good guess).

Good luck with your studies. --Woggly 08:02, 4 Jan 2005 (UTC)
