Talk:Battle of Crete/to do

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

  1. The factors which actaully contributed to a German Victory despite allied supeority of nearly 2-1 need to be included.
  2. More info on the naval fighting
  3. Details on the Italian forces that joined the Germans late in the battle
  4. Info on Italian casualties in both naval and ground forces
  5. More info on Greek participation, including casualties. Even the official Hellenic Army History doesn't have as much information as anticipated; possibly because of the confused situation at the time.
  6. Info on the post-battle resistance on Crete. This may take the form of a separate article. Also, information on what the occupation was like for the average Cretan.
  7. Creation of better maps. I don't think I quite have the knack for this.
  8. More illustrations of the fighting, as well as the more mundane aspects of the campaign. A lot of good photos are available online, but they mostly seem to be owned by the Imperial War Museum or its New Zealand equivalent. I looked at their image use policies and it seems like they might not mesh with Wikipedia's. There are some good photos in some of the Greek and English reference works, but there are doubtless copyright issues there as well.
  9. Get the Balkans Campaign onto the battlebox.
  10. The Escape of the King
  11. Canaris's Intelligence
  12. Fix reference links none of the ref templates point to note templates and none of the note templates in the notes section have corresponding ref templates. The names need to be matched up.
