Talk:Battery Park (Charleston)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I lived near Charleston, SC, for almost 20 years and have never heard the Battery referred to as Battery Park. White Point Gardens is one place along the Battery where the Cooper and Ashley Rivers meet. Are you sure the Battery should be called Battery Park? Sure, some Web pages and other Wikipedia entries might call it that, but are those sources reputable? I looked at several maps and guidebooks of the area and could not find one labeling The Battery or White Point Gardens Battery Park.

I read how to rename/move a page, but since I am not a member of this community, I am unable to do so. Also, if you have solid evidence that I don't calling The Battery Battery Park in some official or standard colloquial way, then it probably isn't appropriate for me to do so.

This page on the history of the Citadel and its students during the Civil War mentions nothing about them firing shots from The Battery.
