[edit] Logo

I uploaded the logo, but for some reason it's not showing up on the page in the infobox. I've done other pictures, but this one doesn't seem to want to work:

[edit] Citation on BW1 not needed

BW1s short commings do not need citation, as it is a matter of opinion, except that every major Game Reviwing Media agreed on those shortcomings. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.119.67.43 (talk • contribs) 04:50, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

WP:WEASEL. Matters of opinion need to be cited even more than matters of fact. If every major "Game Reviwing Media" agreed on those shortcomings, then it shouldn't be too hard to cite one or two to verify those claims. Dancter 05:13, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Release Date

Have they planned a relase date for this game yet?—Preceding unsigned comment added by Ice12 (talkcontribs)

No release date has been announced yet. Also, remember to sign your comments. TJ Spyke 00:17, 9 November 2006 (UTC)

Okay thank you. User:Ice12 15:21, 8 November 2006

According to IGN the release date for Europe is announced, 31 December 2007, Although the date for the US is still TBA. (See: http://wii.ign.com/objects/849/849911.html) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 213.84.105.49 (talk • contribs) 15:31, 13 April 2007 (UTC)

December 31 is the last day of the year, and a very unlikely day to release a title. IGN did not claim that the release date was announced for Europe, and that date is merely listed in its database, which can be assumed to be defaulted to when the year is entered without a month & day, season, quarter, or "TBA". Bare database listings are not reliable sources. Articles and press releases are. Dancter 15:40, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
This should do: http://ms.nintendo-europe.com/e32007/enGB/pr_releaselist.html —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 84.90.228.31 (talk) 03:27, August 23, 2007 (UTC)
It's a placeholder date. Retailers do it all the time. "December 31" just means it will be released sometime in 2007. TJ Spyke 22:27, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
The latest news is that it has been delayed to 2008, at least in Europe, don't know about the rest of the world Loghete 18:22, 23 August 2007

Release date for U.S.A has been confiremed as October 29, 2007 Dagorlad 3 12:32, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Recent fake changes

Now that this article showed up on digg, someone felt it necessary to make false changes the article. Reverting to previous version

[edit] Screenshots

Does anybody have screenshots of the game which could spice up this currently unattractive article?--Arkracer 22:10, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

Agreed, there are pics out there. TJ Spyke 00:18, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

There are many on some of the references in this article and there are 2 in a wii booklet I received, should I try and add any? Henchman 2000 19:09, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

Sure, just make sure to follow Wikipedia:Image use policy. TJ Spyke 00:07, 16 February 2007 (UTC)

I have copied an image, but how do I add it to Wikipedia? Henchman 2000 14:04, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

Read the instructions here: [1] TJ Spyke 22:37, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Real World Parallels?

If the storyline synopsis proves to be accurate, then perhaps the article should mention the parallels with the invasion of Iraq? The stuff about pre-emptive attacks and development of superweapons is pretty obvious, and "Anglo Isles" isn't too far from "British Isles" or "England". Obviously it's speculation without a source, but I'd be very surprised if the game's makers aren't going for a bit of satire there. Kelvingreen 17:26, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

Well, I think you answered your own question there. :)
Since it's just speculation (and original research), no, it can't be included. But, besides, I wouldn't really read too much into that kind of thing anyways. Japanese games (and other media, for that matter) are notorious for lifting incredible amounts of their content (at least at the superficial level) from events, folklore, religion, etc. It's just the status quo here. Bladestorm 17:33, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
I'm still very interested in this point, as there's not a lot of proper satire in video games (I can only think of Werewolves of London's attack on yuppies off the top of my head), so if there is a satirical core to BWii, then I'd like to see it on the page. So if a source comes up, let's add it. Kelvingreen 21:36, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

Are you sick in the head bladestorm? BWII is not from japan. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.64.60.91 (talk • contribs)

Although being developed in the UK IIRC, there is no doubt still Japanese influence because it's a Nintendo property. Geoff B 22:09, 7 April 2007 (UTC)

There is influence from the famicon wars but still. WHEN THE HECK IS IT COMING OUT??? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.64.62.144 (talk • contribs)

No release date has been announced. TJ Spyke 22:50, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
Considering that the Coral Atolls is based on Japan/other Asian nations, it's doubfull that it is a satire of the war in iraq. As well the western frontier is a parady of the United States, who are clearly allied with the coral atolls. Also, the release date for united states has been confired as october 29, 2007 Dagorlad 3 12:36, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Wi-Fi

This is listed as a Wi-Fi game, however this artical doesn't mention anything about Wi-Fi. There should be some sorces here. Flaming Mustang 04:21, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

Hmmm... You're right. I know that one of the wii articles explains that inclusion... (As far as I know, online hasn't been confirmed yet, but apparently the demonstration version they had set up could directly connect two wii's together wirelessly. They had a link to the ign article.) I'd look it up for you, but when I'm online at home, I'm on dialup (ugh). Bladestorm 04:34, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

it will have 3 different online modes assault - 1 person attacks anothers base skirmish - where both players build up an army and attack using strategy co-op - you and a friend work together

[edit] Returning nations

The citation tag should be removed as each nation appears as playable on screenshots. Henchman 2000 11:19, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

It might 'appear' that way, but it's not verifiable. Until a source is found, the citation tag should stay in place. Geoff B 12:05, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Home Button?

Does it not seem strange that IGN says the Home button changes the camera angle. I think this was a mistake/error of judgement by IGN. Maybe they meant the + button or - button. In every game/software the Home button brings up the home menu. CZMQFRG 22:56, 12 April 2007 (UTC)CZMQFRG

I agree, that doesn't make sense. As far as I know, the home button is software independent. --Wolfrider 18:15, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Coming out in australia?

is this coming out in australia? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.44.68.183 (talk • contribs)

Unknown, I haven't seen any confirmation yet. TJ Spyke 00:34, 22 May 2007 (UTC)

seconded, I was just about to mention this, the home button is clearly for... well, bring up the home menu. 86.147.50.92 23:46, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Nintendo Power

Someone has uploaded scans of the October 2007 issue of Nintendo Power, with a story on Battalion Wars 2 [2] It gives a lot of info about naval units. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Thesteampunk (talk • contribs) 04:24, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Article Format

I have revised as much of this article as possible by editing for spelling and grammar errors, as well as by removing redundant and unnecessary information. Try to keep this article organized and within acceptable standards. 72.49.101.186 20:10, 21 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Update

The game is now released and this article is severely limited and outdated. Fix it. :P --Gaming King 15:58, 30 October 2007 (UTC)

If you have the game, feel free to. I don't have the game so it would be a lot harder for me too. TJ Spyke 21:37, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
I've added the plot. There might be some overlooked things, but I think it's a big imrpovement from what we had in the past.Ice12 20:36, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
The plot section is a fairly major spoiler (since it pretty much details the entire thing), should it be as high up as it is in the article? --Thunderbird8 21:17, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
Moved it down for the moment. --Thunderbird8 21:26, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
We should put some kind of spoiler warning. Ice12 21:47, 6 November 2007 (UTC)
Wikipedia does not use spoiler warnings in sections where it is obvious there will be spoilers. WP:SPOIL Geoff B 22:15, 6 November 2007 (UTC)
Okay, but do we really need the factions. Battalion Wars had a similar section, but it got deleted. I don't think we really need the nations listed since there already covered in the plot.
I'm inclined to disagree if we can't provide any information that isn't actually listed in the game manual. The descriptions presently in the article are in the manual, word for word. --Thunderbird8 03:51, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
And? Wikipedia is not a game guide. I'm deleting the factions. There's no need to relist the nations since there already covered in the plot. Do other video game articles always copy stuff that's in the manual?Ice12 21:24, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
