Why is a Batman called a Batman? Jdavidb 18:06, 7 May 2004 (UTC)

It's French: "bât" means "pack" (as in saddle-pack), so a "Batman" is someone who looks after an officer's luggage ~ Mmartins 16:43, 7 Jan 2005 (UTC)
