Talk:Bat & Ball railway station

[edit] ASBOS
It is common knowledge in the area that Bat & Ball is an attractive gathering point for "ASBOs". Why should this information not be shown on wikipedia?
[edit] Unusual name
Please can someone explain the origins of the unusual name? Thank you.Andy Mabbett 19:07, 10 November 2005 (UTC)

- See Railway Stations & Public Houses in Great Britain and Ireland: "Railway Stations, Junctions, and other features named after Public Houses ... ... original station renamed Sevenoaks Bat & Ball. Sevenoaks Bat & Ball renamed Bat & Ball, 1950. At the same time, Sevenoaks Tubs Hill was renamed Sevenoaks. The Bat & Ball Inn no longer exists, but Bat & Ball Road, Sevenoaks TN14 5LJ remains, and the neighbouring community has taken its name from the pub and station". I agree with the above poster that bat and ball is well know around kent as being a less than appealing place - it is clear to see from the syringes on the track that it is not a hospitable place and therefore i think that mentioning it is an appropriate statement.
- This is an encyclopaedia, your paragraph was not written at all like an article here should do, and was in conflict with Wikipedia policy on [1]. If you want something to include something in the article about crime at the station you should rewrite in a neutral tone and probably cite sources (example, local newspapers) that mention crime there - Feebtlas 15:18, 17 June 2006 (UTC).
