[edit] Summary

The logo of the Batchelor Institute of Indigenous Tertiary Education. "The original drawing, stylised to form the logo, represents four people sitting around a camp fire telling stories to each other and, in doing so, sharing knowledge. The logo uses the Aboriginal colours, embracing their symbolic meanings. Black represents the Aboriginal people - past, present, future. Yellow represents the sun, the giver of life. Red represents the earth, red ochre, and spiritual relationship with the land."

[edit] Fair use rationale for use in the article Batchelor Institute of Indigenous Tertiary Education

I, Riana, believe the use of this non-free logo in the above article is fair because:

  • There is no unfree equivalent available at this time.
  • The logo is representative of the institution, and thus enhances an article about the institution.
  • The logo is only being used for the purpose of information.
  • Use of this logo in a limited context does not deprive its copyright holders of any financial gain.
  • The image is of sufficiently low quality that copies made of it will be inferior.

Note that this does not claim fair use in articles other than Batchelor Institute of Indigenous Tertiary Education. To use this image in another article in a legal manner, add a new fair use rationale below.
