Batu Ferringhi
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Batu Ferringhi (Foreigner's Rock[1]) is a strip of beaches on the northern coast of Penang, Malaysia. Along this famous beach area, there are numerous large hotels, restaurants, transport rental services, and souvenir stores. Batu Ferringhi are located adjacent to Teluk Bahang and Tanjung Bungah.
Batu Ferringhi was hit by the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami. Fortunately, no lives were lost due to warnings given by lifeguards on duty before the tsunami arrived. This was unlike other parts of the island where lives were lost to the tsunami.
