From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Battlegroup 107 or BG-107 is a former European Union battlegroup.

The BG-107 was a military force of 1,500 combat soldiers, who were ready to deploy within two weeks to troublespots around the world, from January 1st 2007 to July 1st 2007. Germany was the framework nation of the group, and it was also called the GBG, for German Battle Group. The group was ready for an intervention that can last up til four months. Because of the rotating nature of EU battle group readiness periods, the unit is currently disbanded. Its next readiness period will come in 2011, with the same countries but with a different composition, and with the Netherlands as framework nation.

The BG-107 was made up of soldiers from Germany, the Netherlands and Finland.
