The Battle of Welfesholz was fought in 1115 between the armies of the Holy Roman Empire, and a rebellious Saxon force. The Saxons were led by Lothair I of Supplinburg, while the Imperial forces were led by count Hoyer under Emperor Henry V. Lothair's armies were victorious, denying Henry the power to rule Saxony.
