for other uses of the term see Battle of Kabul

The Battle of Kabul was fought on between August to October, 1842 between British and Afghan forces. The British re-invaded Afghanistan to avenge the defeat at Gandamak. The British won the battle.

One of the reason of this battle was the obsession in British India that the Russians, extending the Tsar's empire east into Asia, would invade India through Afghanistan.
