The Battle of Gomit was fought in 1445 between Ethiopia and her tributary the Adal Sultanate. The Ethiopians were led by Zara Yaqob, while the forces of Adal were led by Sultan Badlay ibn Sa'ad ad-Din of Adal. The Ethiopian army was victorious, and Badlay ad-Din was killed and dismembered, with his body spread around Ethiopia.
