"Battle Without Honor or Humanity" is an alternate version of "Shin jingi-naki tatakai", an instrumental piece by Tomoyasu Hotei, originally used in the 2000 film Another Battle (aka Shin Jinginaki Tatakai) by Junji Sakamoto, in which Hotei also performs as an actor. The original version was also available in Hotei's live album Rock the Future Tour 2000-2001. Three versions of the track are featured on Hotei's 2004 album Electric Samurai (The Noble Savage).

- The song is used on The X Factor in the UK as the music the contestants walk onto the stage with and also was used in the 2006 BBC Sports Personality of the Year to introduce the four boxers as they were stepping into the stage in the style of a boxing match. Also, for a short period of time in 2004, it was used in the 'Half-Time' segment on Radio 1's The Chris Moyles Show, until later in the year when it was replaced by an especially-written soundalike.
- The song is used as the theme song for the ESPN Radio program The Herd with Colin Cowherd.
- The song is also used as the opening and closing theme for San Diego's Rock 105.3 The Mikey Show talk show.
- On an episode "Stole P's HD Cart" of the television series My Name is Earl, the song is played when the gang arrives at the Winky Dinky Dog corporate office, a parallel to a scene also using the song in Kill Bill.
- The song is used as the theme song for the Football Philosophy segment during NFL games broadcast on CBS by Jim Nantz and Phil Simms.
- The song was also used by Ford Motor Company in an advertisement for Jaguar.
- The song is used in station identification segments on WGN radio in Chicago.
- The song is used as theme song for the 103.7 The Buzz (Little Rock) program Drivetime Sports.
- Comedian Robert Kelly requested the song to be played while attempting to watch the whole infamous 2 Girls 1 Cup video on Opie and Anthony. Kelly tried to watch several times but failed (and due to the graphic nature of the video, threw up).

- Battle Without Honor or Humanity was featured in the game trailer for the PlayStation 3 game Gran Turismo HD.
- A cut of this song is featured on the American PlayStation 2 music game Dance Dance Revolution SuperNOVA, and a cover of this song appears on the Japanese PlayStation 2 music game Pop'n Music 13 Carnival.
- Many English Rugby teams use the track as their entrance themes. Most notable was a recent occasion in which the England Rugby team came out to the tune.
- During the 2007 season, it was used as the Kansas State University Basketball entrance song.
- The New Orleans Hornets of the National Basketball Association and the Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League have used the song for their player introductions.
- Professional wrestler Paul London uses the track as a theme while competing in Ring of Honor, as did the Basham Brothers for a short time while on WWE Friday Night SmackDown.
- In 2006, Rip Slyme collaborated with popular rocker Tomoyasu Hotei for MTV's mash up project. By combining Funkastic with this song, they created Battle Funkastic.
- In 2007, the song had been used as the pump up music for New York Yankees left fielder Hideki Matsui when he comes up to bat.

- The song is played in LittleKuriboh's Yu-Gi-Oh The Abridged Movie, when Yugi and Kaiba are entering the Duel Dome.
- The song is used in the trailer for Lanipator's Yu Yu Hakusho The Abridged Movie.
- The song is played in the pre-match build up to every football game at the Boleyn Ground, home of English team West Ham United.
- In November 2006, the music producer Antonis Karalis released his debut worldwide single "To Be Continued" with another version of "Battle Without Honor or Humanity" called "Greekbill (Battles Without Honor or Humanity)".
- In the 2007-2008 season of the ECHL, the Florida Everblades used this song as the music to introduce the team's starting lineup.
- Has been used by UFC middleweight fighter Yushin Okami for his entrance theme on multiple occasions
